WHAT HAPPENS AT THE APPOINTMENT?

You will have a consultation with aesthetic nurse prescriber Cherise to check if it is safe for you to have anti-wrinkle injections. Cherise will go through all of the details you need to know before having this treatment such as how it works, any side effects, and aftercare. Nurse Cherise will then safely carry out the treatment to your desired treatment areas. There is no anticipated downtime and you will be free to carry out your day as normal afterward within the reason
WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS AND HOW LONG DO ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS LAST?

Results from Anti-Wrinkle Injections (Allergan Botox®) take from a few days to two weeks to become visible and last on average last 3-4 months. We always recommend attending a review appointment between 2-4 weeks to check you are satisfied with the results.
WILL IT LOOK UNNATURAL?
​
Not when the treatment is performed by an experienced aesthetic practitioner. The ideal outcome is a small amount of muscle movement, so the treatment looks natural. Very high doses are needed to fully paralyse the muscle, and this is not recommended. When a trained practitioner delivers this treatment most people will not notice that you have had anti-wrinkle injections but are likely to comment on you looking fresh-faced and more relaxed.
DOES IT HURT TO GET ANTI-WRINKLE TREATMENTS?

Most patients say anti-wrinkle injections are relatively pain-free and it is often described as a scratch or pinprick. Plus, we use the finest needles available on the market to make the treatment as comfortable as possible for you and a numbing agent can be used if requested.

ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS OF ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS?
​
Common minor side effects include slight swelling and redness at the injection site but this goes away in about 15-20 minutes following the treatment. Some patients can get a small bruise or headache, however, this is only temporary and resolves fairly quickly.
HOW MANY SESSIONS DO I NEED?
​
You will only need one treatment, which is typically repeated every 3-4 months. However, for safety reasons on your first appointment with AMC, Nurse Cherise will administer a conservative amount of the protein to see how your muscles react. If you still have unwanted movement two weeks following your treatment, further dosing is inclusive of your treatment with us.
